Spaniard born in Boston, USA in 1979. He was raised in Madrid where he studied percussion and architecture. In 2004 began working professionally with different jazz and fusion bands like Mojo Project, La Chuma Segura Hot Band, La Calle Caliente, and with artists like Jerry Gonzáles, Caramelo, Pepe Rivero, Aláin Pérez or Emilio Valdés.

In Cuba he learned about the roots of the folkloric afro Cuban music and received classes from the maestro Jose Luis Quintana “Changuito”. Jorge has become one of the most claimed young musicians of the Madrid scene, besides being one of the few percussionists able to professionally roll the drums, instrument which he learned to play with Carlos Carli and Yayo Morales.

He performed with Egui Castrillo, Victor Mendoza, Mark Walker, Kalani Trinidad, John Lockwood, Rebecca Cline, Aláin Pérez, Daniel García Trio, Vardan Ovsepian, Spainthelighter, the Big Band JCA, and the Afrodisian Orchestra, taking part in international festivals such as Newport 2010, Monterey 2010, and Panama 2011 together with Daniel García and Aláin Pérez.

Español nacido en Boston, U.S.A en 1979. Se crió en Madrid donde estudió percusión y arquitectura. En el 2004 empieza a trabajar profesionalmente con diversas bandas de jazz y de fusió como Mojo Project, La Chuma Segura Hot Band, La Calle Caliente y con artistas como Jerry González, Caramelo, Pepe Rivero, Aláin Pérez o Emilio Valdés.

En Cuba aprendió la raíz de la música folclórica afrocubana y recibió clases del maestro José Luis Quintana ¨ Changuito¨. Jorge se ha convertido en uno de los jóvenes músicos más demandados en la escena madrileña, además de ser uno de los pocos percusionistas que pueden doblar profesionalmente en batería, instrumento que estudió con Carlos Carli y Yayo Morales.

Well, here you have the third record of my band “Patax”, composed and recorded entirely between my first days in Boston on January 2009 and my return to Madrid on December 2010. I think that when I start working in a new album, my head makes an unconscious move and forgets how hard it is to make this possible. The load of work from the first key until you finally get the CD is so absurd that every time I ask myself why I do it over again.

I was leaving from a day of practice in the boiler room of our rented house on 250 River Street, when I saw it clearly as I was walking up the stairs: it will be called: “From the boiler room”, and indeed from the very deepest.

Bueno, pues aquí tiene usted el tercer disco de mi banda, “Patax”, compuesto y grabado íntegramente ente mis primeros días en Bostons, enero 2009 y mi vuelta a Madrid, Diciembre 2010. Yo creo que cuando empiezo a trabajar en un nuevo disco, mi cabeza hace algún tipo de peripecia inconsciente y como que se olvida de todo el esfuerzo que cuesta esto. La cantidad de trabajo que hay desde que compones la primera nota hasta que te llega el disco a casa es tan absurda, que no sé cómo me embarco en ello una vez tras otra.

Salía yo un día de practicar en el cuarto de calderas de nuestra casa alquilada en 250 River Street, cuando subiendo las escaleras lo vi claro: …se llamaría “From de boiler Room”. Y desde luego que sí, desde lo más profundo.
